AFRICANISTS Area/Content and Language consultants As part of the grant, you have access to two faculty/expert consultants: one as an area/content expert, the other as a language expert. You should use one of each (and please note that the grant does require a language/linguistics component). Each consultant will be paid $375 for his/her assistance to you at the end of the grant period. The selection of the faculty member, however, is entirely up to you, provided s/he is in the U.S. and legally able to earn income here. To aid in your search, we have created the following list of faculty from neighboring institutions. None of these individuals has been contacted, nor agreed to participate, unless specifically noted by italics. You may, of course, choose a faculty member not on the list, from your institution, from any institution in the US. You are responsible for contacting the consultant, explaining the grant process ( an abstract can be found on the Title VIA Grant website for you to send), identifying your specific needs and ensuring they receive the correct paperwork to fulfill the grant requirements. You are also responsible for ensuring the consultants are paid by your institution. Please contact your Advisory Board member or MCGE representative or the Co-Directors of the Grant for assistance. PLEASE keep copies of ALL paperwork including copies of the checks issued by your college. Depending on your needs, there are also a few Africanist librarians on the list. Consult the website at www.jeffco.edu for any questions.
