International financing agencies and banks play a significant role in the development of urban transport infrastructure in Asia. Both the

World Bank and the Asian Development Bank are major lenders to

Asian governments, which want to make improvements to urban transport systems in Asia. The topics, lectures and discussions of this training course will focus on the appraisal, financing and implementation of urban transport projects in Asia by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. This is an opportunity to learn firsthand about financing and procurement methods from the two most important international banks in the region.

The course will take place at the AIT center, the Asian Institute of

Technology on 30 June 2000.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This course will be of substantial use and interest to policy makers, financing authorities, bankers, private sector managers, engineers, engineering and planning consultants and senior government officials.

LANGUAGE

Working language is in English.
