Council’s Learning Directory for 2014.
At Melton City Council we are committed to
improving the wellbeing of our community and
we aim to provide a variety of opportunities for
lifelong learning to build resilient people and
strengthen the capacity of our community.
Continuing lifelong learning is an important
way to maintain an active, healthy and happy
lifestyle. The courses listed in this directory will
not only help you gain new skills, but also give
you the opportunity to discover new places and
make new friends.
You’re never too old, or too young, so the
courses and activities offered in this booklet
could be just what you need to kick-start a new
career or hobby.

Melton Lifestylers Walking Group
Being physically active as we age can make all the
difference to living happier and healthier. We offer
valuable exercise with a fantastic group of people.
We walk many different routes across Melton
Township and beyond for 45-60 minutes. A large

Melton Men's Shed
The community version of the backyard shed that
has long been part of Australian culture. The
Melton Men’s Shed is a place for blokes to come
together to share their unique skills and experience
in a relaxed and fun environment. It’s a place of
creativity, team work celebrating community spirit
and building on men’s health and well being.
Expression of interest and registration is free as is
tea, coffee and access to most of the programs.

Rhythm in Movement
This class is a highly motivational "Music to
Movement" exercise program based on workouts
with rhythm structured for all age and fitness
levels. It consists of a Zumba style warm up
followed by a full upper and lower body toning
program. Based on the ability of the participants,
the class breaks into a Circuit workout. This can
involve Gym, Boxercise and Muscle Toning. Loose
fitting clothes and sturdy runners for safety are
preferred. Bring Yourself, Bring a Friend, and most

candle in a glass cube holder, a plain soy candle in
