1. http://www.sole.org/
A given! I still took a few minutes to look around the website. I looked at the
Certified Professional Logistician Program(i.e. http://www.sole.org/cpl.asp); we never
know, it might be something interesting for the future. I also noticed Prof Blanchard
“logistics bibliography”; definitely a link to keep in mind. If you are a member, it seems
like the website offers a lot of resources.
2. http://www.clm1.org/
“The Council of Logistics Management is a not-for-profit professional business
organization consisting of individuals throughout the world who have interests and/or
responsibilities in logistics and the related functions that make up the logistics profession.
Its purpose is to enhance the development of the logistics profession through logistics
professionals by providing them with educational opportunities and relevant information
through a variety of programs, services, and activities.”1
This site offers a wealth of information especially in the Resources, Tools and
Links section (http://www.clm1.org/resource/index.asp). It offers a 70 pages glossary, a
long list of logistics organizations, of universities and the list goes on.
3. http://www.logisticsworld.com/
“LogisticsWorld is a directory of logistics resources on the Internet. It is your
guide to thousands of sites related to logistics, logistics management, freight,
transportation, supply chain management, warehousing, distribution, maintenance,
manufacturing, management, reliability, mathematics, business, and quality sites on the
web.”2
I felt that this was one of the good sites I visited when looking for “catalogue of
providers”. Lots and lots of information about logistics resources and businesses that are
available out there.

“LogLink is a search engine dedicated to the transportation and logistics industry.
Inside you'll find thousands of websites in industries such as travel, transportation, supply
chain, logistics, warehousing, distribution, freight, forwarding, third-party logistics and
more. It also contains thousands of classified business directory listings from across the
globe. These listings are fully searchable and contain the company or organization name,
key products and services, service description, address, phone, email, and other contact
information.”3
I thought that this was another good site about “logistics providers”.
5. http://www.kolacki.com/WISE_index.htm
I ran across this one on Google.com. It looks like someone’s personnel Systems
Engineering “link library”. All sorts of information about DOD standards and others
(e.g. http://www.kolacki.com/critical_standards.htm), military handbooks (e.g.
http://www.kolacki.com/MIL-HDBK_index.htm) and a good list of frequently requested
websites.
6. http://rac.iitri.org/
“The Reliability Analysis Center (RAC) is a DoD Information Analysis Center
(IAC). The RAC is chartered by the DoD to collect, analyze, and disseminate data and
information in a designated technical area of specialization. Information is distributed to
DoD and industry via databases, methodology handbooks, state-of-the-art technology
reviews, training courses, and consulting services.”4
I found a lot of information about books that are available in various domains. I
also found the “toolboox” useful (e.g. http://rac.iitri.org/rac/jsp/toolbox/ractoolbox.jsp).
The information resources were also interesting. I did not try to use it, but I will keep the
calculator in mind during this course (http://rac.iitri.org/cgirac/formdraw.pl?Change2=1).

7. http://www.enre.umd.edu/rbooks.htm
I also ran across this one on Google.com, it contains a fairly extensive
bibliography of books about topics like maintainability, reliability and a few others.
8. http://www.relexsoftware.com/maintain.htm
Relex Software Corporation - Leaders in Reliability Analysis
“Relex Software Corporation was incorporated in 1986, as Innovative Software
Designs, Inc., with a mission to produce superior reliability analysis tools. Our
professional reliability background consists of many years of experience in both
commercial and military activities, allowing us a unique insight into the needs of both
worlds. And our professional software development team has extensive experience in
developing high quality software for various organizations, computers, and operating
systems.”5
I selected this site because of the vendor provides software that I think would be
pertinent to this class. I realize that the company is only one of many more I am sure.
Here are a couple examples of software:
Relex Maintainability
http://www.relexsoftware.com/maintain.htm
Relex LCC - Life Cycle Cost
http://www.relexsoftware.com/lcc.htm
9. http://www.dla.mil/
“The Defense Logistics Agency is a logistics combat support agency whose
primary role is to provide supplies and services to America's military forces worldwide.”6
There are numerous DoD web sites about logistics and this is only one example
10. http://www.cts.umn.edu/index.html
The Center for Transportation Studies is one example of the many organizations
the provide services, especially education and courses about logistics.

“Supply Chain Online delivers web-based short courses in supply chain
management. Course modules are written by Dr. Warren H. Hausman, Founder of Supply
Chain Seminars and Professor in the Department of Management Science & Engineering

Here is another example of courses available on the Internet; in this case, the topic
is the supply chain.
12. http://www.loginstitute.ca/
The Canadian Professional Logistics Institute
