Nominations for the BISA Executive Committee 2016/17
Nominations are invited from individual members of BISA for election to the BISA Executive Committee. For
logistical reasons nominees need to be based at a UK institution and be a full member of the association.
As a member of the BISA Executive Committee, you can make a contribution to the development of the
Association and International Studies field, and it would enable you to:



shape the concerns of the Association as a whole;
become involved in the organisation of events or activities;
broaden your network of contacts outside your own Institution.
Elections will be held for the posts of:

BISA Executive Committee Member (four places).
The term of office for the Executive Committee Member Roles is two years, commencing 1 January 2016.
If you are elected to the Executive Committee, it also means that you have become a Trustee of a charity registered
in England and Wales (No. 115260) and a director of a company limited by guarantee (No.8422260). All
Trustee/directors will be asked to sign a Code of Conduct and to be aware of the responsibilities attached to being
a Trustee of a charitable company. The deadline for nominations is 12.00 noon 6th November 2015.
If places are contested, it is expected that an online Election will be held during the last 3 weeks of November 2014
with the results announced during the week beginning the 1st December 2015.
Executive Committee Member (four vacancies)
Committee Members are expected to attend 4 E x e c u t i v e m e e t i n g s a year and to take on specific
functional responsibilities relevant to their skills and expertise within the sub committees. There is no ideal
candidate – we are looking for hard-working and committed individuals with familiarity of BISA, and with skills
and interests that will complement those of the existing Committee members.
