Eating Disorder PSA Requirements – Grade 8 Team members(groups of 2 or 3)___________________________________________________ Public Health is the practice of protecting and improving the health of people in a community. The Grade 8 Eating Disorder PSA seeks to promote public health through education. Student teams will serve as advocates for this health issue and will educate the ISM community about it by creating a public service announcement (PSA) in the form of a display. PLUS a poster OR a brochure per group( include all the information stated below but focus on ONE disorder- the teacher should decide which one) Accurate information about Anorexia Nervosa OR Bulimia Nervosa OR Binge Eating (teacher to decide which one you do) include: Signs that someone is developing an eating disorder Short term health consequences long term health consequences Treatments Advice about how you can help a friend who you think is developing a disorder Advice about healthy eating habits Advice about how to control a healthy body weight Information Technology (IT) – Each display must utilize IT in the creation of the display area. This could be in the form of making brochures, Excel tables/graphs, Power Point presentations, etc. Visual Aids – The display should be visually appealing and make use of appropriate graphics, photos, models, and/or charts to inform the audience.
