-To help people change their lives through improving health behaviors, especially exercise behaviors
-To provide the community with resources to live a healthy and fit lifestyle including full-service health clubs
-To serve the community by being accessible experts of health and fitness
DEPARTMENT GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: (Corporate Wellness Department)
 To provide health services to Baltimore-area companies employees including discounted club memberships and
on-site employee wellness programs
 To mobilize Brick Bodies club staff including membership counselors, personal trainers and group exercise
instructors to offer services in a corporate setting
 To increase the number of Brick Bodies Corporate Wellness Clients implementing health and wellness programs
 To increase awareness of the benefits of worksite wellness and healthy employees through education to Human
Resources Professionals and Business Owners
 To partner with providers of health benefits including non-profit health organizations (including American Lung
Association and American Heart Association), health insurance providers, benefits brokers and worksite wellness
providers

HOW WILL YOUR ORGANIZATION USE AND IMPROVE A HEALTH EDUCATION STUDENT’S SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE? :
The Brick Bodies Corporate Wellness Department Internship Program offers health education students the opportunity
to apply their education and passion for health to the practical experience of providing health services in a worksite
setting. Brick Bodies offers health education student’s a variety of opportunities to explore areas of professional focus
and enhance their skills.
Opportunities include:
 Program Development – create programs for the worksite tailored to specific areas of health including physical
activity, nutrition, stress management, work/life balance, smoking cessation, etc.
 Program Implementation – coordinate and implement health education programs in a worksite setting
 Program Evaluation – create evaluation tools and implement evaluate measures to assess the effectiveness of
provided worksite wellness programs
 Health Communications & Marketing – present the business case for worksite wellness to business decision
makers through a variety of marketing measures including face-to-face presentations, mailings, website
development and special events
 Networking – work with and learn from professionals in the health education when forming and maintaining
relationships with Brick Bodies health partners
 Account Maintenance – maintain corporate accounts through regular communication and marketing

OTHER INFORMATION
HOURS: The hours of this internship are typically within the business work week of Monday – Friday,
8:30am- 5:00pm. In the case of special events or programs, evening or weekend work may be requested.
LOCATION: The intern will work out of the Brick Bodies Corporate Office located in Timonium.
PARKING: Parking is available and free of charge.
DRESS CODE: Brick Bodies offers an energetic workplace where business casual dress is the norm.
