Your Own Prologue Entry

To create his characters, Chaucer used descriptive language and wrote with a specific poetic style. He described what they looked like, what they carried, their attitudes and their jobs, their sins and virtues. Using clues from the character chart and your own personality create your own

prologue. How would Chaucer describe you? Are you sinful or virtuous?

Entries will be submitted via email by 1/22/15 (2:14pm) AND presentations (PowerPoint) in class on 1/22 and 1/23

Option 1: Mimicking his style, you will write about yourself as if Chaucer was looking at you at the Tabard Inn in Southwark. Minimum ten

lines. Each line can have only ten syllables. Rhyme scheme aa, bb, cc, dd, ee…

Option 2: interview another student and that student will interview you. He/she will write your entry in the Prologue and you will write his/hers. Same writing style must be followed. Minimum ten lines. Each line can have only ten syllables. Rhyme scheme aa, bb, cc, dd,

ee… Partners must be in the same class
