Marketing Executive
General Overview
Little Pickle Press is a rapidly growing, development-stage Company. We are
seeking an individual who can monetize our award-winning content and build the
digital components of our business in strong partnership with the rest of the
management team. This strategic role will involve equity in the Company and a
title commensurate with the candidate’s experience and subsequent impact to
the overall business of the Company.
Position Overview
We are seeking a key member of our management team to take responsibility for
LPP’s marketing strategy, including digital product development, marketing and
sales. We are looking for an individual who is familiar with the complete digital
life cycle—taking award-winning content, managing the creation of digital
products from that content (ranging from books to eBooks to book apps to full
feature animations or series), managing the sale of the products via the major
distribution platforms for children’s books, eBooks, book apps, music, and movies
or series and developing marketing programs, based on intensive data analysis, to
drive sales.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Design marketing strategies and programs to generate significant sales of
Little Pickle Press’ books, eBooks, enhanced eBooks, book apps, and music
on a global basis.
• Draft and manage the Company’s digital product roadmap and assist in
either the acquisition or development of the new content through thirdparty relationships or internal capabilities.
• Create appropriate reporting mechanisms to track sales of all products and
understand the impact of various marketing activities.
• Establish or strengthen direct relationships with Apple, Barnes & Noble,
and Amazon to optimize sales of our digital assets.
• Oversee the Company’s website and optimize it for commerce, community,
and conversation on current topics.
• Build the Company’s database of customers and prospective customers to
enhance Direct to Consumer sales and foster meaningful relationships with
this community.
• Lead our Social Media Team to design and implement marketing initiatives
to support our digital sales objectives.
Desired Skills & Experience
• BA/BS in Marketing/Communications/Business or related field plus 5+ years
of relevant digital marketing/media experience.
• Digital media expert with deep understanding of publishing industry best
practices and how to apply them, including display, mobile, search, content
syndication, licensing, social media, and integrated/custom digital
experiences.
• Digital media enthusiast with track record of developing innovative
campaigns that deliver business results.
• Significant experience using and leveraging the data generated by web and
marketing analytic tools.
• Creative/innovative thinker with the organizational skills to manage and
optimize multiple programs from concept to completion within a fastpaced, team-oriented environment.
• Strategic thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and drive and willingness to take risks and make
mistakes to inform better strategies and tactics.
• Experience in engaging and developing collaborative relationships with
external media partners and media/advertising agencies.
• Strong negotiation skills with external media partners, publishers, and
content developers.
• Accountable, determined, dedicated, positive, high-energy, and goaloriented.
• Pride in building meaningful content and brands.
• Relationships with all or any of Apple, Barnes & Noble/Nook,
Amazon/Kindle Fire, Facebook, and/or Pinterest is considered a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—both written and verbal.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Wordpress, FTP, basic HTML editing,
and knowing HubSpot, InDeSign, Illustrator, and/or Photoshop is a plus.
