Nowadays, functions managed by AIS are tightly integrated with other business functions to become so-called enterprise resource planning (ERP), which is becoming an indispensable part of modern e-Business. In this course, we will look into core business processes including those managed by AIS. We will also study the interactions of AIS functions with other functions managed by ERP. We will introduce information systems and relate them to key business process concepts. Course Objectives: Students will have a good understanding of the motivation for introducing e-Business solutions, including ERP, into modern businesses. They will have an in-depth understanding of key e-business solutions and how business functions are supported by these solutions. They will learn to use graphical tools to describe business processes. They will learn why proper internal control on business processes and information systems should be exercised and how to implement such controls.
