Read Chapter 2 – complete worksheet for homework. 9/12 – Covered Ch 1-3 in depth – took notes (heads up on quiz). Unit Project was explained (due Oct 3 and 7). HW: Read Chapter 4. 9/15 – Final projects assignments were given this week – due Oct 3 and 7. HW: Use study guide to make sure you understand the major events of the book so far. 9/19 – HW: Finish chapter 6 and read to 131 in Chapter 7. Notes were taken, study guide questions were discussed. Next Friday will be a work day for Unit Projects. 9/23 – A worksheet over the homework was given and discussed – students must finish for homework. Mr. Cherry, from student services gave a presentation on looking ahead to college. 9/24 – Chapter 6 and 7 discussed (climax of the book). Friday we will finish Chapter 7 and students will have a full class period to work on the computers for their Unit Project. 9/26 – Chapter 7 was finished in class. Chapter 8 was assigned for homework and a quiz will be given on Tuesday. Tuesday will be a work day for final projects with computers. 9/30 – HW was to read chapter 8 – pop quiz today! Listen to Chapter 9 (audio recording) – work day for projects on the 3rd. Project due date moved to the 14th. 9/3 – Substitute Teacher: work day for projects – due Oct. 14th. 9/7 – Review for final Gatsby test, book is complete. Test to be on the 8th. 10/8 – Gatsby tests were given as a take home test. All short and long answers must be typed, double spaced and proofread. Unit Projects are due the day they return (on the 14th) and PSAT’s will be taken on the 15th. Reminder: All permission slips for the Salem Field Trip must be returned with a $40 payment by Oct. 15th. 10/14 – Take home tests and final projects are due!
