Presenter: Joyce Sunada and Vicki Switzer, Ever Active Schools Looking for support for your elementary physical education classes? Ready to participate in activities to take back to your staff? Using the ABCD’s of Physical Education and the philosophy of Physical Literacy, participants will walk away from this active session with the tools to create a comfortable learning environment and teach FUNdamental Movement Skills (FMS). The FMS provide the basic motor skills that are the foundation to all later movement in life whether sport specific, active living or recreation. General 3. Zumba Presenter: MayaCampagnaro, award winning fitness instructor Come experience the exciting exercise phenomemon of Zumba. Move your body to music with easy to follow choreographed steps. Cardio in Small Spaces E/Jr/Sr Presenter: Trish Hardy, former personal trainer, current Bootcamp Instructor and middle school Physical Education teacher In this session you will learn ways to get your classes active and moving in small spaces such as hallways, drama/dance rooms, cafeterias etc…Focus is on students developing individual cardiovascular and strength. Can be incorporated for all ages! 8. Recipe Card Lesson Plans E/Jr Presenter: Joyce Sunada and Vicki Switzer, Ever Active Schools If you need quality PE lessons that meet the expectations of the program of study, then this session is for you. Ever Active Schools has gathered lesson plans for Division I, II and III and packaged them into an easy to follow and use resource. Participants will walk away from this session with quality lesson plan ideas and strategies for physical education and an understanding of the ABCD’s of PE. Recipe cards will be available for purchase at this session for $20.00 a set. 9. Balloon Fun K-2 Presenter: Sonia Sheehan, PE Specialist and SPARK Trainer Have you heard of SPARK (Sports, Play, and Active Recreation for Kids)? Come “SPARK up” your program with the use of balloons. Balloons are soft, safe and lots of fun. Come experience the many different ways you can teach striking skills with an inexpensive piece of equipment. Activities will be geared to kindergarten, grade 1 and grade 2. 10. One Circle Dance Company – Hip Hop E/Jr/Sr Presenter: Christopher Clare, One Circle Dance Company The object of this session is to gain some understanding of Hip Hop culture. Yoga for Youth 5-9 Presenter: Trish Hardy, certified and registered Yoga Alliance instructor and Middle School Phys Ed/Health teacher for 13 years In this session you will enjoy a short yoga practice focusing on Yoga Poses that are ideal for young people. You will also learn relaxation techniques to use with your students and how you can incorporate Yoga into your daily phys ed classes. 12.
