MultiLit – PreLit Workshop
Prep PreLit is evidence-based and best practice, designed to complement a play-based learning
environment and can be taught to a whole class, small groups, or individually. The program
comprises 108 short, prescriptive lessons within which skills and concepts are taught explicitly and
systematically in a hierarchical sequence. There are two main components: phonological awareness
and oral language development through story book reading. MultiLit is a research initiative of

Drumbeat 2013 Workshop
Drumbeat is an evidence-based therapeutic intervention program using music. It is made up of five
key components; drum songs to promote collaboration and increased levels of focus and
commitment; drum games with analogies that support engagement and teamwork; discussions linked
to healthy relationships that courage personal reflection; improvisation that supports creative
approaches to new challenges and a performance that provides recognition and a link to community.
