1. BACKGROUND
As globalization and economic integration of the entire East Asia region progresses, it is necessary to improve
the business environment related to trade and investment for the mutual benefit of all countries in the region.
To address this, the Training Project for Improving the Business Environment related to Trade and Investment
of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry 〔METI〕has been assisting developing countries in improving
industrial structure and the business environment by sharing Japanese economic/social system, technologies
and know-how, all of which have been a foundation of the economic growth of Japan. The Association for
Overseas Technical Scholarship〔AOTS〕is entrusted with this training project in FY2010 by METI, and will

human resource strategies.

Know Japan”, implementing lectures on Japan and its corporate culture, in order to motivate the students to
work in Japanese affiliated companies.

of nurturing the participants with idea of Japanese corporate culture at a higher level though lectures and factory
visits in Japan.
