Educational Talent Search is a program designed to help selected students graduate from high school then enroll in college or vocational school to complete their education. Secondary or postsecondary school dropouts are also assisted in reenrolling in school or in obtaining a GED. Services provided by Educational Talent Search are always offered FREE OF CHARGE. Trained staff members visit area middle schools, high schools and Adult Learning Centers to provide personal development activities, academic counseling, career exploration and assistance with applying for college admissions and financial aid. WHO IS ELIGIBLE? The following criteria have been established by the U.S. Department of Education as a guideline for determining an applicant’s eligibility for the Educational Talent Search Program: Citizen or permanent resident of the U.S Family income after taxes falls within the Federal Income Guidelines. Applicants must furnish family income information Neither parent/guardian with whom the applicant lives with completed a 4-year college degree before the applicant’s 18th birthday Has academic potential Is at least 11 years of age Needs one or more of the services offered by the program An application must be completed in full before a student can be selected to participate.
