Amy Conroy LSIS 5645 Dr. Underwood Core Assessment II Partnering with community agencies is critical in today's world. Funding for school libraries has decreased meaning that resources must be stretched further. Forming partnerships with those in the community allows for a greater number of programs to be held within the school. It also helps students recognize the larger community outside of the school. An established list of community contacts can also be used by the staff and administration of the school, increasing collaboration with the Media Specialist. Media Specialists must recognize that partnering with community agencies will strengthen their program benefitting the students, the staff, and the community as a whole.
