Bankstown TAFE 9048 TPC (Tertiary Preparation Certificate)
COURSE STRUCTURE
Units offered at Bankstown 2009
Note: this document does not show the full range of subjects available in TPC in
NSW TAFE but only subjects planned to be delivered at Bankstown.
To gain a TPC Certificate IV and be eligible for a TES you will need to
 complete the compulsory core of subjects (Group 1) – Apply language and
learning skills (LALS A), Apply critical and evaluative language and learning
skills (LALS B) and 4 shorter units that will be delivered either with LALS A
or as part of the Flexible Work and Study Skills subject.
 Complete at least 2 IT/Computing units from Group 2.
 Complete two A level subjects (from Group 3)
 Complete two further B level subjects (from Group 4)
 Complete at least one unit from the Workplace and Study Skills unit (Group 5)
 Complete three more subjects* from Groups 3, 4, 5, 6 so that the total number
of hours from groups 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 adds up to at least 530 hours.
*Note Subjects refers to 4 hpw Subjects on your timetable like TPC Computing. Units refers to the
individual units that may be only 10 or 20 hours. In many cases you will do several smaller units in
the one subject. A 72 hour unit counts as a subject.
Group 1 CORE
All units must be completed
Part of this Core will be delivered along with Language and Learning Skills A.
Part will be delivered flexibly as part of your Mentoring/Team/Effectiveness subject.
