You must take either Advertising or Public Relations, although you may take both. You must take two advanced speech courses (such as SPC220 Oral Interpretation/Literature; SPC221 Speech Techniques for Broadcast Media; SPC320 Argumentation & Debate; SPC321 Persuasion or SPC323 Advanced Public Speaking.) NOTE: Group discussion also is almost always taught during a three week summer term. D Adv liturature courses include Eminent British Writers, American Literature Since 1865, The Inklings, Hero & Anti-Hero, Man & Woman, Prophetic Comedy, Man & Nature; Faith & Doubt, Light in Darkness, Children's Literature or Adolescent Literature. E You must complete at least 1 internship (140 or more hours spent with a professional communication organization) and you may complete 2 internships as long as they are significantly different experiences. Note: It is highly recommended that you complete your Senior Internship during the summer term. F G Senior Research Project should be completed during either the fall or spring of your last year. Communication Arts Conference: You must participate in the Communication Arts Conference each semester, but you get 1 credit in your last semester at Judson. H As part of the media major component, you must take either Introduction to Business (usually taken in the first or second year) or Leadership and Changes (in the third or forth year). You may decide to take both I Communications Workshop is a contribution of service learning to the college community or an appropriate not-for-profit community organization. You must have at least 2 semester of these pass/fail half-credit courses, but we recommended you contribute almost every semester. J Most students find it beneficial to take Internship and/or Group Discussion and/or a lab science in a summer term. This allows them to take several extra electives during the four years.
