Founded in Montreal in 2002 by Sylvain Lapointe, Buzz offers
chamber-music concerts, educational shows and sound
recordings.
Buzz has given over 900 performances
throughout Canada and the USA, be it in
primary and secondary schools or in renowned
venues and halls of which the Louvre Museum
in Paris, for a total of some 175,000 spectators,
not counting several radio and television
broadcasts. In addition, its three albums have
been critically acclaimed, including its most
recent recording that was a nominee for one
of Quebec’s ADISQ awards.
As to its show The History of Music for young
audiences, it earned Buzz an Opus Prize (ahead
of the renowned Orchestre symphonique de
Montréal) and the status of Finalist at the Young
Audiences Music Awards 2012 organized by
Jeunesses Musicales Internationales.
In short, every audience is amazed, bedazzled
and charmed by Buzz and its diverse musical
influences, high-quality performances and
fresh theatrical staging.
