Davis Weekly: Our Primary Parent News December 6, 2013 Dear Parents, December is certainly an exciting time for Primary Students! We are capturing that excitement and putting nd it to good use in learning about the rich heritage we enjoy here at Davis! Each day our 2 Grade Students lead our school in “15 Days of Celebrations,” highlighting traditions observed by families in our Davis Primary Community. They share customs from as far away as Japan, Poland, Israel, Africa, and England to those as close as Mexico and Canada during our morning announcements. As a way to encourage “Hallway Best,” our students then hunt daily for the highlighted country’s holiday symbol as they pass through the hallways on their way to lunch, music, art, and P.E. The catch is, they must be exhibiting “Hallway Best” when they find that symbol to count it for the challenge. It is amazing how quietly our students can traverse our hallways when “on the hunt!” Ask your student where they found the wooden shoes from Holland or the mistletoe from France. Loving our students’ excitement for learning and sharing! Denise Liechty WITH MUCH GRATITUDE . . .
