Fire detection devices shall be listed for use with the fire alarm control unit (panel) (72:4.4.2) All duct smoke detectors have remote alarm indicators in a readily accessible location, clearly labeled to indicate their function and the air-handling unit they are associated with. Test switches installed were applicable. Access panels or Grid labeled Duct Detector # _______ If the fire alarm system is required to be monitored or elected to be monitored, the monitoring company and fire department has been notified of the testing and when the testing has ended. Where required, 2 telephone lines with different numbers are installed to transmit the fire alarm signal at the protected premises to the central station. A trouble condition shall be created and receipt of alarm signal at the offpremises location is verified. Fire alarm systems serving more than 2 zones shall identify the zone of origin of the alarm initiation by annunciation or coded signal. Use common language on panel readout. Verify Notification Appliance spacing, location, and height conform to approved plans and the requirements of 2007 NFPA 72 chapter 7. (Audible appliance height 7.4.7) (Visual Appliance Height 7.5.4.1) Fire Caulk where applicable. Type used. Final Inspection 24 HR battery test. All primary power to the fire alarm shall be disconnected and the occurrence of required trouble indication for loss of primary power is verified. Using secondary power, the alarm system is operated for a minimum of 5 minutes (72:4.4.1.5.3.1) Test all initiating devices in alarm (flow 90 Sec) Test all initiating devices in trouble Test all notification appliances Test trouble on the notification appliance circuit Test Communication Trouble Test Low Temp Trouble Test Tamper/Flow Check the strobe candela Audible notification appliances are functional, and sound level meets audibility requirements (15 db above average sound levels, or 5 db above maximum sound level. (72:7.4.2.1 Audible, 72:7.5.1 Visible) All exits connected to the fire alarm unlock upon receipt of alarm. (72:6.16.7.2) Approved plans, calculations, and manufacturer specification sheets in protective pouch at FACP.
