General Dodge House

Council Bluffs, IA

      

The General Dodge House was built in 1869 by Gen. Grenville M.

Dodge.  The mansion consist of three stories and more than 14 rooms overlooking the Missouri Valley.  General Dodge lived in the home until

1916.

The storm windows are 1­3/4" thick. We fabricated the windows from 

Genuine Honduras Mahogany to hold up to the elements.

Due to the size and weight from the 1/4" laminated glass ­ each storm took two people to move through the shop.  The laminated glass was used to cut down the UV rays to protect the interior of the mansion.

We built over 40 storm windows for this project.  Some of the storm windows had tru­divided lites.  Several of the storm windows had curved tops.  The contractor sent us the original storm windows so we could match the same radius and profiles.
