Christian education.

Must be a traditional evangelical Christian whose lifestyle is in consonance with sound

Christian principles, is compatible with CCU's Statement of Faith, and is in agreement with the Strategic Objectives promulgated by the University.

Job Summary

The Dean of Engineering will create and build a successful School of Engineering program for

Colorado Christian University, achieve ABET accreditation, and recruit and hire a scholarly and excellent faculty team - subject experts who are also able to successfully integrate faith and learning.

Duties and Responsibilities

1.

Propose and manage an approved annual financial plan/budget.

2.

Participate in Dean's Council and provide up-to-date information on activities in the

School of Engineering. Act as a significant part of the Vice President of Academic

Affairs team for meeting and exceeding accreditation standards.

3.

Facilitate all departmental activities and provide leadership for the achievement of excellence in teaching and assigned service of the School's faculty.

4.

Work closely with the other Deans, the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the

Administration, faculty, and students.

5.

Promote the mission, vision, and Strategic Objectives of the University.

6.

Market the engineering school, faculty, and students to further the new School's goals and objectives.

7.

Work closely with the Vice President of Academic Affairs to build a nationally recognized Engineering team who effectively teach in their areas of expertise.

8.

Write course curriculum or commission subject matter experts for writing the course syllabi in Blackboard.

9.

Inspire faculty and students to outstanding academic achievement.

10.

Set the tone and example for faculty and students by demonstrating excellence in team building, developing positive relationships with faculty, staff, and students. Design a team and curriculum to retain students.

11.

Evaluate and report on student learning outcomes.

12.

Evaluate faculty performance with relevant criteria and assist engineering faculty in their academic development.

13.

Support ongoing student recruitment through personal meetings with prospective students and parents.

14.

Participate in the broader spiritual and intellectual life of the University.

15.

Assume other responsibilities as requested by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1.

Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university, with 10 or more years of progressively responsible leadership experience in a university, business, or engineering field; known as an expert in engineering and science.

2.

Collaborative leadership style and highly-developed organizational abilities.

3.

Proven track record of teaching excellence and the ability to integrate faith and learning in his/her teaching.

4.

Effective communicator of a personal faith and able to apply biblical principles and convictions in the workplace.

5.

Engaged in meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing, evangelical, local church, be knowledgeable about the Word of God and passionate about Christian education.

6.

Strong sense of calling to the mission and vision of Colorado Christian University, have a lifestyle compatible with CCU's Statement of Faith, and be in agreement with the

University's Strategic Objectives.
