We don’t face cancer alone . We
come together every year and remember those who have lost the fight
and celebrate those who are winning. Whether you are a survivor or a
caregiver, getting involved in Relay For
Life can provide opportunities for
learning, sharing and friendship.
While the American Cancer Society is
making progress toward a world without cancer, they can only finish the
fight with our dedication and fundraising efforts. Our funds make the
following possible: Research; Hope
Lodge; Road to Recovery; Look
Good...Feel Better and Reach to Recovery.
Search your memory banks,
your old files and photo
albums.
Then, write/paste/draw
those memories in our 20th
Anniversary Memory Album. After 20 years, we
know there are some awesome photos just waiting to
be shared, some beautiful
memories to be written.
The Album will be available
at each Kick-Off, Open
Team Meeting and Relay to
be added to over the years.
Our memories of Relay are
priceless—let’s keep them
alive and renewed every
Relay.

Relay Teams - In Our Community
2015 Franklin County Spring Parade was well represented on April 18!
Team #65, LONG AND WINDING ROAD
Team #49, KEEP SMILING
MAGGIE helping the Survivor Committee decorate their
“float”.
The Relay floats
received loud
HOORAY RELAY cheers all
along the parade
route.
The high winds
blew our
“artfully arranged” ribbons
awry!
Note Kyle
Walker (our
EMT) walking
ahead passing
out RFL flyers.
SITE SAFETY NOTES
All campfires MUST BE AT LEAST 12” OFF THE
GROUND, on concrete blocks or stands. If they
are not, the grass will be burned.
At the end of Relay, please DUMP THE ASHES in
the RUNNERS’ LANE, NOT IN THE DUMPSTER!!!!! Putting
ashes in the dumpster will cause a fire (again).
NO BARE FEET. This is a pure and simple safety and
health issue.
It seems silly for us to have to print this, but, NO
SMOKING ANY PLACE ON THE GROUNDS. If
you must smoke, go outside the gates and USE the
RECEPTACLES placed there. No cigarette butts on the ground.
NO ALCOHOL of any kind at Relay.
If you see a police, health or safety emergency,
please call 911 first then call a Committee member
to alert our EMS/Safety team. The EMTs are lo-
cated right outside the Dole Building. They are available for all types of health emergencies. If you have
any kind of health emergency please go directly to
their tent or call any Committee Member. Their numbers are in
your Captain’s Book.
If you see any kind of shenanigans that you
think require police intervention, please go
again to our Safety/EMT tent. Or call any
member of the Committee and report what
you see. We want a safe and peaceful experience for everyone
so please don’t let one’s bad actions ruin it for the rest.

ACS CAN
The American Cancer Society Cancer
Action Network is the nation’s leading
cancer advocacy organization that is working every day to make cancer issues a
Many of the most important decisions about
cancer are made outside of your doctor’s office.
Instead, they are made by your state legislature,
in Congress and in the White House. ACS CAN
empowers regular people to be part of the growing national movement that is fighting back
against cancer.
ACS CAN, the nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy
affiliate of the American Cancer Society, is holding
lawmakers accountable for their words and their
actions. We demand that our leaders not only talk
about fighting cancer but take real steps toward
decreasing the number of people suffering and
dying from cancer.
Become a member of ACS CAN for only $10! Your
membership helps to support:
 Grassroots campaigns that persuade
lawmakers to support laws and policies
proven to help people fight cancer;
 Training for volunteers to make them
effective advocates;
 Voter guides to hold officials and candidates accountable for their positions on
cancer-related issues.
ACS CAN gives ordinary people extraordinary
power to fight cancer! Go to
