GOOGLE SCHOLAR & UC-ELINKS
What is Google Scholar?
Google Scholar, http://scholar.google.com/, includes
content from journal publishers’ sites, article databases,
book catalogs and other realms of the Invisible Web.
It debuted in 2004.
What is UC-eLinks?
UC-eLinks appears in many of the library’s subscription
databases. It connects UC students, faculty and staff to
online articles, print holdings in the campus libraries and
interlibrary loan services.
Scholar Preferences
The UC Libraries are part of Google Scholar’s Library Links program. This means UC Davis users can
activate UC-eLinks to connect to library-licensed resources in Google Scholar from off campus:
1. Select Scholar Preferences
http://scholar.google.com/scholar_preferences
2. In the Library Links search box, enter:
California Digital Library. Find Library.
University of California,Davis. Find Library.
California,Digital Library - UC-eLinks
University of California, Davis - UC-eLinks
3. Optional: In the Bibliography Manager,
select EndNote.
4. Make sure to Save Preferences.
5. Log in to the UC Davis Library VPN
http://vpn.lib.ucdavis.edu/ Navigate to Google
Scholar via Electronic Databases A-Z, or enter
http://scholar.google.com/ in the Browse box.
