EPIC Toy Drive
Hopkins is hosting a district-wide EPIC Toy Drive in hopes to fill an entire bus full of crafts, toys, books, stuffed
animals, and more for Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. The sponsors of this event, Hopkins NHS, would like to invite
you to join us in collecting crafts, toys, books, and stuffed animals.
Here is a message from Mr. Babiak:
As you all may know Dawson has been the catalyst for many opportunities for our family to give back. Along with that
there are many supporters that follow his journey, and what a family endures with a child diagnosed with cancer.
Slightly over a year ago our family found ourselves in a hospital with the life changing news that Dawson has
Leukemia. We were inpatient over the holidays and we were all miserable. Thankfully donated markers, crafts, books,
stuffed animals, snuggle blankets and toys made our stay at the hospital a little more bearable. Although November and
December of 2014 were months that we would love to forget it was a reality for Dawson and our family that the
celebrations would be different. So we are launching our next challenge to collect as many new toys, crafts, books,
stuffed animals, etc. to be donated to the Helen DeVos Children's hospital for those family's and children that are
inpatient over the holidays and throughout the year. Nobody wants to be in the hospital especially during one of the
most festive times of the year. We want to challenge you to help us fill an entire school bus so that we can drive up to
the front doors of the hospital and show these families and children that we care for those kids that are unable to be with
family and attend school. A craft, activity book, reading book, stuffed animal, toy (remember patients at the children's
hospital are all ages from newborns up to teens) can bring a little bit of happiness and hope to a world of medical
challenges that makes life feel like it is spiraling out of control. Please join us in this effort to give something amazing
to the many kids of the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. The drive will go from Nov 30 - Dec 11. Thank you for all of
your support and help.
