You can download and print a copy of the registration form that we send with the LPS back-to-school summer mailing. The flyer includes the location information, and a complete schedule of workshops. At the present time, registrations still must be sent by snail mail. Both LPS and non-LPS students are welcome to register. Cost: $90 for each workshop. If a student qualifies for free or reduced lunch, tuition is reduced to My School Pathfinder Program Lancaster County Youth Services 1200 Radcliff St. Lincoln NE 68512 This website is the property of Lincoln Public Schools and is provided to faculty and staff as a means to communicate with students, colleagues, parents and the community. If you feel that this resource is being used improperly, please contact abuse@lps.org $15. To qualify, I must have a note or e-mail from your school verifying your student's lunch status, or a copy of the District letter granting the lunch status. Workshop registration does NOT register your student for the national exam. You MUST register separately for national exams. If your student is taking the free April LPS test for all juniors, you do not need to register. Your student's school will take care of registration. Get a registration booklet from your school's counseling office, or register on-line. For the PSAT, register through the counseling office at your student's school . To register for the ACT online, go to www.ACT.org To register for the SAT online, go to www.collegeboard.com Refund Policy: Cancellation requests must be received before the first class date. A $20.00 handling fee will apply. Late Registration Fee : $20 Handicap accessibility: Our facilities are handicap accessible. Contact Linda Geisert for arrangements (lgeisert@lps.org or call 402-441-5639). Location: Lincoln High School, South Building, 2229 J Street. Do NOT go to the main entrance wrong door! This map shows where to park, what doors to enter, and where the classrooms are. Questions about LPS prep workshops? Contact Linda Geisert at lgeisert@lps.org or 402441-5639. Questions about which test to take, when to test, and how to register for the tests: Please contact your student’s school counselor. As a classroom teacher, I focus on test prep methods only. Counselors have test registration booklets and up-to-date information on the college admission process, and are familiar with your student’s academic progress. Students with IEPs may qualify for adjusted ACT, SAT or PSAT testing conditions. Your IEP manager must submit documentation used by ACT or SAT to determine the type and extent of adjustments allowed. Are there other ways to prepare for these tests? Absolutely! Take the practice test found in the ACT registration booklet or the on-line SAT practice test, then learn from the questions missed. This option if free! Study independently with test prep books or CD-ROMs available at bookstores. The official ACT or SAT study books contain actual tests (that's what we use). However, they offer very little help for test-taking strategies. Some options cost more but provide smaller class sizes or a location and time that may be more suitable for your student’s needs. Parents – please talk to your student before registering! After a full of day of school, an evening course tests a student’s endurance! Be sure your student is committed to investing the time and energy needed, and is aware of the following workshop rules: Attendance will be taken each week. Parents: please let us know if your student will be absent, or will arrive late or leave early. Students may not talk and socialize during class, especially during testing. Cell phone use is prohibited. Students are to leave their cell phones turned off and return messages at the break or after class.
