P AGE 2 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month Some of the activities we have planned for this month: Thursday, October 14th - Domestic Violence Memorial Vigil Raise The Roof By Jan Smith “Raise the Roof” 2010 was a great success for the Shelter Home of Caldwell County. For 24 hours, staff of the shelter along with law enforcement officers, judicial officials, attorneys and community members sat on the roof top of Lenoir Police Department to raise awareness and to raise money for the Shelter to be able to provide activities for October which is Domestic Violence awareness month. Domestic violence is something that we deal with 24 hours a day and we wanted to show the community that we are dedicated to putting a stop to it. The grand total we raised was $2,150.00. We would like to thank all that participated and to those that showed their support. Thank you to FATZ and Sagebrush for feeding the Roof Raisers ! 6:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church Christian Life Center in Lenoir, NC.
