Because power line voltage in
the field can vary wildly, the JBL
Sound Power Controller is de­
signed with a switching power
supply which can handle extreme
swings from an unstable voltage
supply and will function with a line
voltage from 100-240 volt.
To assist the user in optimizing
the application of a chosen system,
JBL ofters the CADPZM and SRDSTIVi
computer software programs. Based
on the physical details of the venue
and the proposed Sound Power
System configuration, SRDSTfv1 ofters
a quick estimate of basic perfor­
mance parameters, while CADP2™
provides a more detailed analysis

The Controller consists of a
main unit plus a dedicated pre-set

Sound Power Controller System
the sound, the limiters in the JBL
Sound Power Controller preserve
the integrity of the original signal,
based on true RMS detection,
operating as a "gain control';
predicting the heat generated in
the speaker. The JBL Sound Power
Controller protects the speaker
from overheating, while leaving
intact the crucial musical transi­
ents which JBL transducers
handle with the greatest of ease.

The superior strength and rigidity
of the JBL Sound Power Touring
cabinets are achieved using high­
density 21 mm 13-ply Finnish
birch hardwood construction and
comprehensive internal bracing.
The cabinets are attractively
finished in a durable black acid­
hardened paint that resists scuffing
and chipping during transport,
set-up and rigging.
Every JBL Sound Power
Touring loudspeaker sports a

removable grille of 2 mm per­
forated steel lined witll open cell
reticulated foam to protect against
moisture damage and dust.
RIGGING
The integrated aluminum corner­
mounted hanging system protects
cabinets during transport, while
providing unique flexibility and
strength during installation.
The integral mounting hard­
ware made from a special an­
nealed aluminum alloy surpasses
the strictest safety standards. The
mounting system allows convenient
stacking or clustering and the
enclosurelbrace combination can
handle in excess of 10 tons. You'lI
bring the roof down, long before
these reliable braces give way.
In clusters the integral hanging
points create a "unified front;' effec­
tivelya single, continuous baffle
