Grand
Opening!
Parents and learners are invited to join
the Windsor Preparatory Team on
Thursday, August 28th 2014
from 6-8 pm for our Meet-andGreet Grand Opening!
Windsor preparatory progress
Finally! Our main building is near completion. The construction crew is finishing
small items necessary for us to move into the building. We anticipate our
occupancy certificate shortly. Crews are now focusing their attention on the two
smaller buildings, namely the kitchen and changing rooms. You are invited to
visit the site and walk through the building at your convenience.
Both swimming pools are progressing as scheduled. They will be completed in
the near future.
Landscaping has commenced. Although we have experienced some delay due
to heavy rains, our irrigation system is installed and we are ready to plant grass
sprigs as soon as the risk of them being washed away by heavy rain has subsided.
Uniforms, furniture, textbooks, supplies and resources are all en route.

GOING GREEN!
We are pleased to announce, through the generosity of the Sokoloff
and Holdom families, Windsor Preparatory will house a fully solar
powered science lab. The lab will include:
• the most advanced LED lighting system.
• solar power for lights, fans, plugs, computers,
etc. Whenever a learner plugs something into
the wall sockets they will be using solar power.
• an inverter system with a 200 menu computer
screen to analyze solar data which will serve as
an educational resource for our new curriculum
on sustainable energy.
The Windsor family extends our sincerest gratitude
to the Sokoloff and Holdom families for this innovative
and exciting learning tool and sustainable resource for
our school!

SUMMER READING LISTS
Windsor Preparatory is not requiring learners to complete any summer reading lists.
However, we encourage all of our learners to read as much as possible during their
time away from school.
For recommended reading lists for your child’s age level, please visit the American
Library Association at http://www.ala.org/alsc/2014-summer-reading-list.
SPANISH OR FRENCH?
Have you contacted info@windsorprep.com with your child’s language preference
between Spanish or French yet? If you have not, please do so by August 13th, 2014.
HEALTH AND FITNESS
We believe that physical activity and learning go hand-in-hand. Therefore, all of our
learners will be taking courses in physical education and swimming throughout the
academic year.
All activities will be developmentally appropriate and may include: soccer, handball,
basketball, track and field, dodge ball, capture the flag, parachute games, tag games,
throwing and catching.
Learners in upper Primary and beyond will engage in additional sports activities
such as golf, tennis, rugby, volleyball, basketball, and American football.

Summer 2014
ORCHESTRA
Secondary Students will have the opportunity to learn to play an instrument in our school’s
orchestra. Selections will be made during the first week of school in order to ensure a good
balance of instruments. While we will try to give students their first option, preference will be
given to students who already have experience playing a particular instrument.
Students will be responsible for the purchase of their own
instruments, but the school will facilitate the orders to ensure
consistency in quality.
AFTERSCHOOL CLUBS AND
ACTIVITIES
Afterschool clubs and activities are being planned to
complement Windsor Preparatory academics and sports
throughout the school year. Examples are: Art, Music,
Choir, Glee Club, Drama, Photography, Environmental and
Math Clubs. More details will be available as we near the
beginning of the school year.
We look forward to the grand opening of Windsor Preparatory School. Please do not hesitate to
contact us to answer any questions.
Kindest regards,
Your Windsor Prep Team!
