Envisioning the workforce
of 2020
The next wave is here
This year’s retreat will explore the early trends that
we are seeing that are shaping how organisations
think about and define what an employee is. We’ll
show examples of new organisational structures
and ways of getting work done that reflect the
trends we’ve been seeing over the past five years.
From a South African perspective how do we get to
grips with a country desperate for key and critical
skills while at the same time dealing with crippling
youth unemployment. Can technology be the great
leveller between urban and rural job-seekers?
If you are already seeing changes in what it means
to be an employee, thinking about the skill sets that
will be critical in the next decade, looking for ways
to better engage your employees and are
challenged by the younger generation and their
needs then the 1st Annual South Africa Future of
Talent retreat is for you.

Richard started his career at KPMG as an accounting
trainee and progressed at the firm being admitted as
a partner in 2004. During his time he obtained
experience in financial accounting and auditing, IT
consulting and talent acquisition.
Dave Jenkins, co-founding Director of
GradConnection, started his career like most students
: upon completion of his Bachelor of Commerce &
Administration at Victoria University in Wellington, he
entered a
graduate
program in IT
and
commenced
with Westpac
alongside Mike
Casey and Dan

the talent acquisition and secondment functions for
KPMG in South Africa. He also served as the firm’s
national training officer, chaired the KPMG EMEA
talent task force and was a member of the Training
Requirements Committee (TRECO) of SAICA. He
represented large firms on the board of FASSET and
chaired the SAICA AMS sub-committee. He remained
a member of the global firm’s strategic resourcing
group.
More recently he has left KPMG to open up the
Féinics consultancy to pursue his passion for talent
acquisition and development, workforce planning,
employee branding and digital media
After going
through the
graduate
recruitment
process themselves, they saw an opportunity to
create a site for graduate employers to better
connect with graduates and students :
GradConnection was born.
Since its beginning in 2007, the GradConnection site
has continued to grow and now runs internationally.
Dave has successfully led the adaption of the
GradConnection Platform and initiated expansion
into the African market. Clients include professional
services firms, banks, engineering and mining
employers, and federal government agencies
Dave is a respected expert in his field with
GradConnection being nominated for Best
Contribution to the Recruitment Industry (Australia) in
