Grant Gershon Kiki & David Gindler Artistic Director LAMC Production Assistant Job Description Title: Production Assistant Reports to: Artistic Personnel/Production Manager Summary of Duties: The Production Assistant’s primary duties include assisting the Production Manager with rehearsals and concerts, managing the Los Angeles Master Chorale’s music library, and handling a broad range of administrative duties. The Production Assistant will be joining a collaborative team of colleagues and will be a key participant in teams that handle LAMC performances and events. The Production Assistant should be a self-starter who works well independently but communicates effectively with colleagues. Because the Production Assistant will work at both on-site and off-site locations, a cell phone, driver’s license and vehicle are requirements of the position. Essential Duties, Responsibilities, Functions: Production Duties Assist Production Manager with artist check-in and logistical considerations related to rehearsals Assist Production Manager with similar backstage concert duties in connection with performances at Walt Disney Concert Hall Assist Production Manager with logistics related to off-site services Music Library Manage music library database and single score library Manage off-site music library Manage score preparation, distribution and return processes with choristers Prep and track music score loans Artistic Personnel Administration Help administer chorister contracts: o Print and distribute chorister contracts for mainstage and education engagements o Track completed chorister contracts o Send contracts to AGMA, file LAMC contracts On-site guest artist services Assist with annual audition process: o Track and organize new audition submissions with Assistant Conductor o Communicate schedule and logistics with auditioning singers Grant Gershon Kiki & David Gindler Artistic Director Education Production Assist Education Manager with in-school programs Provide production assistance with High School Choir Festival services o Rehearsals and performances o Schedule LAMC master classes for participating choirs o Assist with other preparatory and day-of-event logistics as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree preferred or demonstration of equivalent professional production experience Confidentiality, discretion and professionalism in dealing with artist relations and communications Knowledge of choral music or ability to read music preferred Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word and Excel Critical thinking and organizational skills, especially project planning Comfortable with deadlines Comfortable with speaking in front of a large group Requirements May be required to lift up to 30 pounds Will be required to work select evenings and weekends; flexible schedule provided Will need to drive to off-site locations, and may be required to transport production related supplies and materials to off-site locations Position Status: Full time/Exempt Position Compensation: commensurate with experience; competitive benefits package available Position open until filled APPLICATION PROCESS The Los Angeles Master Chorale is an equal opportunity employer.
