August 2014 ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY The Board of Education of Norwood SD 63, Peoria, Illinois is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Superintendent/Principal. The person selected for the position of Superintendent/ Principal of the district will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Abby Humbles, who has served in this capacity for 9 years. Due to declining enrollment, at the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year the position of Superintendent will include principal duties. However, the Superintendent will have a lead teacher/dean to assist with curriculum development and student discipline. The Board wishes to select a superintendent/principal who will begin work on July 1, 2015. The total compensation package will be in the range of $90-120,000 based on successful experience and education. It is expected that the initial contract will be for a multi-year period, as authorized by Illinois statutes. GENERAL INFORMATION ON THE DISTRICT AND THE AREA LOCATION — Norwood is located in Peoria County in the villages of Norwood and Bellevue. Norwood District is an Elementary School District with two campuses: Norwood Primary (serving grades PreK-4) and Norwood Elementary (serving grades 5-8). Norwood Elementary School District is one of eight feeder school districts in the Limestone area. Graduates of Norwood attend Limestone Community High School.
