CORROSION UNDER SUPPORT
How can I know the extent of the corrosion where
the pipeline rests on the supports without the difficulty
of lifting the pipeline? This is an age old question to
which Dacon now offers a tested and verified solution.
Dacon’s Corrosion Under Support system is able to
quantify corrosion and measure the remaining wall
thickness at the inaccessible areas where the pipe
is resting on supports or held by clamps.
Our system has an independently verified accuracy
of +/- 0.6mm and can be used to gain a significant
cost advantage when assessing pipeline integrity
and planning shutdowns and scheduled maintenance.
Tried and tested in the field this tool should form
an important part of any inspection program.
REMOTE VISUAL INSPECTION
Every visual inspection requires a different solution
which is why Dacon keeps in stock the largest selection
of Remote Visual Inspection cameras and borescopes
in Asia.
We have cameras mounted on caterpillar tracks that are
capable of crawling inside big bore pipelines for hundreds
of meters through to small diameter boresopes for
inspection of areas with limited access.
From inspection of piping in new build offshore modules
to the location of stuck objects in pipelines we have

API INSPECTION
Dacon is perfectly poised to provide qualified and
experienced inspectors to deliver a broad range of
API inspection anywhere in Asia.
With a primary focus on API 653 (Tank Inspection), API
570 (Piping Inspection) and API 510 (Pressure Vessel

ROPE ACCESS
The aim of our Rope Access division is to provide efficient
and accurate inspections in the most challenging
working environments through highly qualified and
multi-disciplined inspection professionals.
Dacon has completed Rope Access inspections
globally from flare inspections in Bangladesh through
to offshore platform inspections in Norway.
With a team of over 30 IRATA qualified personnel and
an in house IRATA approved training facility we are able
to control the quality of our inspection personnel and our
clients can have absolute confidence in the operational
safety of our teams and integrity of the final inspection
results.
COMPUTED RADIOGRAPHY
Dacon’s focus has always been on using technology
to improve inspection services for our client’s needs
and when it comes to Radiographic Testing there
is no exception.
Computed radiography uses phosphor storage plates
to capture and store images on a computer as opposed
to traditional film. This allows for lower exposure
times and easier image processing.
Small Controlled Area Radiography (SCAR) is a safer form
of radioactive source that reduces the field of exposure
and thus minimizes disruption to other activities.
By using computed radiography in combination with
SCAR technology we are able to perform RT testing
without the need to shut down a large area and thereby
save our client’s time and money.

INTELLIGENT PIGGING
Dacon has developed Intelligent Pigging Tools that
provide highly accurate results with simple to read
and rapidly generated reports. Our Intelligent Pigs
are capable of acquiring up to 1,600 measurements
per second and are designed for simple and
cost effective mobilization and operation.
Our lightweight tools and extensive engineering
capabilities allow us to specialize in inspecting “unpiggable”
pipelines and we have successfully inspected lines with
no launching and receiving facilities, unbarred tees and
other configurations commonly deemed “unpiggable”.
Dacons tools are capable of inspecting all pipelines
(subsea, underground or above ground) including carbon
steel, austenitic steel, concrete lined, or HDPE lined.
Our tools are proven in the inspection of high density
polyethylene (HDPE) pipelines which is a global first.
