ABOUT THE CAMPUS
The St. Thomas Training College (STTC) has been set up by the Mar Thoma
Church Educational Society, a Society registered under the Travancore-Cochin
Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1055 as No.S.23 of 1966.
STTC which strives to prepare teachers for teaching in the class rooms of tomorrow started functioning from July 2005.
The Society runs three prestigious Schools at its Campus in Mukkolakkal,
Thiruvananthapuram viz, the St. Thomas Residential School, the St. Thomas Central
School and the St.Thomas Higher Secondary School. The latest addition to the educational institutions managed by the Society is the St.Thomas Institute for Science and Technology in 2010 at Chanthavila, Kazhakuttam, Thiruvananthapuram.
HOW TO APPLY
Application forms are available from the College Office on payment of Rs.100/- or can be downloaded from the Website www.stthomastvm.edu.in
and hard copy given to the College with a payment of Rs.100/- in Demand Draft or Cash. Application Forms will be issued from the middle of May 2013.
ELIGIBILITY
A Degree with 50% of Marks in the subject concerned.
Candidates with 50% marks for Part-I English and 50% Marks for M.A English are also eligible for English Optional.
Candidates who have taken their Degrees from a University other than Kerala
University should produce an Eligibility Certificate (from University of Kerala) and Migration Certificate (from the University where the candidate last attended the Qualifying Examination) at the time of admission.
Other norms are as per the guidelines of the Prospectus of the Directorate of
Collegiate Education.
COURSE DETAILS
The B.Ed Degree Course has two Semesters, of which the First Semester starts from November to March and the Second Semester from June to October. The
Semester Examinations conducted by the University of Kerala are in April and
November respectively.
FEES DETAILS
The Government Fee set for B.Ed Degree Course in Self-Financing Colleges is
Rs.29,000/- but as per the decision of the Management the same has been reduced to Rs.24,000/- (inclusive of both the Semesters). Withdrawal of candidature during an academic year is not generally allowed. However, if a student has to withdraw for any reason no amount will be refunded under any circumstances after the classes are started in the College.
FEE CONCESSION
Limited Fee Concession is available to students from Mar Thoma Community
belonging to Economically and Socially Disadvantaged Section. (Details in Website)
