It is recommended that students have a HSC Mathematics Extension 2 with a mark of at least 180 for Extension 1 and 2 combined, or equivalent. English requirements# Local students are required to have studied English as part of their Higher School Certificate and international students are required to have IELTS 6.5 or higher for entry into Macquarie University degrees. If you have Band 4 or less in HSC English, less than a 7 in IELTS or if you are not confident about your ability to fulfil the language and expression requirements of university level assignments, we strongly recommend you take ACBE100 Academic Communication in Business and Economics. People and Planet Units To satisfy the requirements of Rule 4(5), a Program of Study for a single Award must include: (i) one unit taken from Part 2 of this Schedule and one unit taken from Part 3 of this Schedule, and (ii) one of those units must be taken outside the Department administering the Program of Study of Qualifying Major which the student is admitted to, and the other such unit must be taken outside the Faculty administering the Program of Study or Major which the student is admitted to.
