Summary of the Job
The UI/UX Designer understands fundamental usability and user-centered design principles that guide
software user interface development for various products with different specifications. They research,
design, story board, present and create highly usable solutions for how products and web-based
applications interact in response to human behavior. The UI/UX Designer will also be responsible for
development and implementation of web-based applications. As part of a larger cross-functional team,
the UI/UX Designer must have excellent communication skills and be able to effectively manage
competing priorities and deadlines. This individual will also implement quality assurance and gather basic
requirements throughout the functions as noted above.

Manages/leads/directs promotional and educational digital projects
Assesses client needs, and proposes and develops innovative multimedia solutions
Articulates and confidently presents the digital design strategy in a business setting both
internally and to clients
Trains and mentors more junior members of the team
Demonstrates full use of design standards and procedures in performance of essential functions
Produces deliverables such as site-maps, user flows, prototypes and wireframes in order to
discover how user should interact with the content
Produces tests through usability tools to optimize user experience
Demonstrates good communication skills when presenting design ideas to various disciplines or
customers
Delivers HTML(5)/CSS(3)/jQuery or other JS libraries front-end code across a broad array of
interactive Web and mobile projects
Has a strong understanding of responsive design
Works collaboratively and professionally with other associates in cross functional teams to
achieve goals
Familiar with project management and Microsoft Office tools
Requires critical thinking and an innovative mindset
Maintains SOPs and documents related to Web and mobile development
Helps provides estimates for web and mobile deliverables
Fulfills other duties and responsibilities deemed necessary by supervisor

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in digital arts, media communications, informatics, film or
equivalent degree or experience
3-5 years of UX and Web design/development experience
3-5 years of UX and proficiency in UX design tools, Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, and Adobe
Dreamweaver (or equivalent)
Advanced HTML and CSS skills; specifically building responsive HTML5
