Wadley, Ph.D, L.P.C. (PA & NJ), ACS, NCC Principal of the Association of Black Sexologists and Clinicians PROGRAM DATES Inaugural delegation: July 30-August 7, 2016 PROGRAM INTRODUCTION Sponsored by the Association of Black Sexologists and Clinicians and the Global Engagement Institute, the Pan African Summit on Sexual Wellness, Decolonization, and Indigenous Knowledge was created to host critical discussions about health and wellness in African sexualities and relationships on the continent and throughout the Diaspora. Given our shared history of European colonization and the struggle to heal from its trauma, the aim of this summit is to bring scholars and leaders of African descent (i.e., continental Africans and Diasporic Africans) together to discuss community building, wellness, maintenance, and liberation in how we live with and love each other. Scholars and practitioners are invited to share their research and/or clinical/educational best practice as a means of facilitating discussion about decolonization, liberation, social empowerment, and/or systematic change.
