Poetry Portfolio due Monday, September 30
You are to compile a portfolio of your work from our study of poetry. The compilation will include
things you have already written as well as two new assignments. For each previously written
assignment, you are asked to revise and polish one last time. Any new work should be
submitted in final draft form.
Portfolios must include:
1. A Title Page with a creative, meaningful title, your name, and the date
2. Table of Contents
3. 4 journals from your notes on various poems we have read
4. 1 “Found” poem, with title, and identify story/page passage was drawn from, with
reflection
5. Your image poem on a given topic, with title, with reflection
6. 1 new, original poem (+5 for a sonnet in iambic pentameter), with reflection
7. Your 1 paragraph analysis, with revisions, with reflection on areas of strength and
areas for growth in writing analysis
8. A new, multi­paragraph analysis on poem chosen from the list below
9. About the author
For your second poetry analysis, choose one of the following poems and write an essay
in which you analyze the poem’s by discussing the author’s use of at least 2 elements of
