Upon graduation, you’ll be commissioned as an officer and get started in an Air Force job that uses your technical skills. Engineering programs must be accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and other technical degrees from regionally accredited schools. Q What is the Technical Degree A TDSP is a program for students who Sponsorship Program ( TDSP)? are within 24 months of graduation. TDSP students enlist in the Air Force. To do this, the student must successfully compete at an Officer Training School (OTS) board. Then, the candidate will enter into the active duty Air Force at the rank of E-3 and receive full military benefits. A TDSP is a program for recruiting topnotch engineers for the Air Force. Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 34 at the time of commissioning. Q Do grades matter? A Yes. Students must be in good academic standing. Candidates must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4-pt scale for all college-level studies, as well as, their academic major. In addition, students must score a minimum of 25 on the verbal and 25 on the quantitative portions of the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test. Q What happens when I graduate? A The basic pay for the rank of E-3 is $1,729.80 monthly. TDSP applicants also receive monthly housing and food allowances totaling up to $1291.04 for the Wichita, KS area . In addition, participants and their dependents are issued ID cards and are entitled to FULL military benefits-including health care, Base Exchange, and commissary privileges. participants attend OTS at Maxwell, Air Force Base, Alabama. Those who complete OTS will be commissioned as Air Force second lieutenants. Then…you move on to your first assignment, as an Air Force officer. Q How long is my Air Force commitment? A After successful completion of OTS, you have an initial four-year active duty commitment.
