ARTS MANAGEMENT

Arts Management is a new field that collaborates different disciplines
such as Arts, Management, Non-profit Management and other fields. In order to
help people find the suitable resources of Arts Management, Research
Resource List informs the specific resources which include library catalogs,
online resources, and reference resources.
LIBRARY CATALOGS
GMU Library Catalog & the WRLC/ Aladin Catalog
ILLiad- Interlibrary Loan & Conducting research in D.C. area
GMU Library provides many resources of Arts Management, it includes not
only books and journals, also the diverse databases. GMU Library includes four
libraries which are Fenwick Library(Fairfax campus), Johnson Center Library
(Fairfax campus), Arlington Library (Arlington campus), and Mercer Library
(Prince William campus).
If you cannot find resources in GMU Library, you can also try WRLC/ Aladin
Catalog. The Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC/ Aladin
Catalog) is the consortium group that includes the nine libraries in Washington
DC area, you can also use the WRLC/ Aladin Catalog to check the information
on resources from other libraries.
ILLiad - Interlibrary Loan (ILL)is another tool that you can use on research.
Some books are harder to find, in this situation you should try (ILL) that can
come from anywhere, from the University of Alaska to Yale University. Finally,
the useful tool of research is conducting research in DC area. There includes
almost 13 libraries that you can research in Washington DC area.

1. ABI-Inform, 1984 - present
In-depth coverage of business conditions, trends, corporate strategies and tactics,
management techniques, competitive and product information, and a wide
variety of other topics.
2. Academic search complete, 1887 - present

Provides a comprehensive scholarly, multi-disciplinary database with full-text,
peer-reviewed journals, as well as indexing and abstracts for monographs,
reports, and conference proceedings. The database features PDF content going
back as far as 1887, and searchable cited references for nearly 1,000 journals.
3. Art Full Text, 1984 - present
A very important art history databases. Work together with Art Index
Retrospective so check both. They'll give you full text articles when available.
Sometimes an abstract and/or full citation is only available.
4. Art Museum Image Gallery
Digital resource of art images and related multimedia gathered from the
collections of distinguished museums around the world.
5. ARTBibliographies Modern, 1974 - present
This database provides abstracts of journal articles, books, essays, exhibition
catalogs, PhD dissertations, and exhibition reviews on all forms of modern and
contemporary art from traditional to new media.
6. Bibliography of the History of Arts (BHA), 1973 - Present
Covers European and American art from late antiquity to the present, citations
and abstracts only (no full text) to books, conference proceedings, dissertations,
exhibition and dealer's catalogs, and articles from 1,400 journals.
7. JSTOR, Time periods vary
This database contains complete full text of core scholarly journals in various
subjects. This is a great resource for Non-Western art. Search together with the
image database ARTstor.
8. ProQuest Research Library
Covers more than 1,800 periodicals on a wide variety of topics, plus current
coverage of articles from newspapers.
9. Omnifile Full Text
OmniFile Full Text contains indexes and abstracts of eleven H.W. Wilson
databases in a wide variety of humanities, sciences, and social sciences subjects.

All journals in Omnifile Full Text to which Wilson has full text rights are
offered in full text.
10. Oxford Art Online
Formerly, the Grove Dictionary of Art, Oxford Art Online includes over 45,000
articles on every aspect of art history. This is a great place to begin and don't
forget to check out the references at the end of each article.
11. WorldCat
“More Books, Less Calories!!” This is a valuable tool for building a list of book
citations. Stick to keyword searching, unless you are looking for a specific title
or author.
