The project is worth 55 points and is due on: ____________________________________ Part 1 – Brain Model In order to gain a better understanding of the organization and function of the brain you will be building a three dimensional model of both the right and left hemisphere of the brain. Supplies: Be creative, modeling clay or any modeling substance, candy, fabric, non-perishable foods Modeling clay paint, or by different colors Tooth pick (used to stick label areas of the brain) Try an arts and crafts store like Walmart, AC Moore of Michael’s Directions – 25 Points for Model Build 3d model of both the left and right hemisphere of the brain- be sure to label the areas on both sides -Research, color and label the lobes of the brain (occipital, parietal, temporal and frontal lobe )- 4 points - Research and label the functional areas of the brain: association cortex, motor cortex, somatosensory cortex, Broca’s area, auditory cortex, Wernicke’s area, and the visual cortex – 7 points - Research and label the structural areas of the brain, hindbrain, midbrain and forebrain – 4 points - For each area of the brain you are to type the name of the area, where it is located, and its functions and responsibilities – 10 points Part 2 -Using your brain model from above give a creative presentation dealing with the function of the items of the brain listed below.
