Training List
Listed below are some training ideas. Please note this is not an exclusive list (except in the noted areas), but should
hopefully create a better understanding of what constitutes acceptable alternative sources of training.
With any alternative trainings, please remember the training needs to be relevant to the primary disability of the
participant.
In order to receive training credit, the employee needs to write at least one paragraph on what the training was about
and at least one paragraph on how it relates to their job function, as well as turn in a training time sheet.

other newspapers, any scholarly/academic journal such as the Journal of Family Psychology, the Journal of Personality

credit as any individual can update or post to the website.
Websites listed on the “Training Resources” page will have articles you can read as well.
Articles will need to be submitted to your Program Manager as the training credit hours will need to be
reviewed case by case.

o Training credit would be awarded for how long the classes are or how long the speaker presented.
There are free seminars or conferences throughout the year put on by various societies. The best way to find
out about them would be to subscribe to their newsletters or websites.
As always, anything on the College of Direct Supports (CDS) is valid. Please remember Community Involvement

you to complete the module.
o If you have any questions about how much credit you will receive, please contact your manager.
