These sessions feature local partners that are measurably improving life for individuals, children, and families moving
out of poverty. Round 1 features aspects of collective impact and Round 2 features strategies that are moving Bay Area
residents toward self-sufficiency. There are three choices for each round, built around the three key drivers of success
referenced in the Roadmap to Cut Bay Area Poverty – Basic Needs, Education and Jobs/Economy.

BREAKOUT SESSIONS ROUND 1 – BUILDING STRONG COALITIONS
This series of breakouts will highlight how strong, multi-disciplinary, cross-sector coalitions act collectively to generate
meaningful, measurable reductions in poverty. Presenters will frame a candid discussion on overcoming challenges,
and capitalizing on opportunities, to implement an impactful anti-poverty/pro-prosperity agenda. Participants will have
the opportunity to engage with collective action representatives from around the Bay Area and share key strategies and
resources to strengthen newly formed or established coalitions.

This series of breakouts will situate impactful local strategies, campaigns, initiatives and programs within a larger regional
context. Presenters will discuss their existing work and plans for the future, share best practices and lessons learned,
and highlight opportunities for implementation, coordination or partnerships in other geographies. Participants will leave
these sessions with a deeper knowledge of efforts happening throughout the region and with relationships that can
foster inter- and intra-county alignment and coordination.
