About the Mark J. Bebie ’70 Speakers Endowment at Lakeside School
Mark Bebie lost his life in a climbing accident in the Canadian Rockies in 1993. Mark provided a
generous gift to Lakeside in his will.
With the proceeds of his bequest, the Bebie family established the Mark J. Bebie ’70 Speakers
Endowment. A portion of the income from that fund underwrites the cost of bringing stimulating
speakers to address students, staff, faculty, alumni, and the wider Lakeside community on topics
related to the environment, technology, economics, education and other subjects of interest to Mark.
