• The Georgia Tech-Shenzhen program and other cooperative U.S. China educational programs like it build the foundations on which we
can deepen the relationship between our two countries. Both
President Xi and President Obama understand this. It is why since
President Obama first announced the 100,000 Strong Initiative in
2009, approximately 68,000 U.S. students have come to China to
study Mandarin and to learn about Chinese culture. Together, both
Chinese and American students are now learning each other’s
languages and cultures and collaborating on innovative projects.
• An investment in cooperative education programs between the U.S.
and China is an investment that pays dividends for all of us. These
programs bridge language barriers, open lines of communication,
and connect people in both immediate and lasting ways. Georgia
Tech’s program here in Shenzhen is thus another terrific step forward
in continuing to build relations between the United States and China.

Current GT Students
• Senior undergraduate students are encouraged to consider
studying abroad at GT-Shenzhen especially during the
summer semester. 4xxx and 6xxx level courses are available
in Shenzhen that may not be available in Atlanta.
• Current GT degree seeking students do not need to apply for
admission to GT-Shenzhen unless there is a change in degree
level (BS → MS).
• Current GT students only need to email
gtshenzhen@ece.gatech.edu with a request to change
campus to GT-Shenzhen at least 8 weeks before the start of
each semester. Lead time is needed to apply for Chinese visa
and book airfare. Scholarships usually have earlier application
deadlines.
