Program Description:
“CFP Board Code of Ethics and
Professional Responsibility” This class is designed to review
ethical issues that professionals
may face in their financial
planning practices. This course
examines the financial planning
process, the material elements
of financial planning, the importance of
understanding whether you are providing financial
planning or just material elements of financial
planning, as well as topics surrounding the fiduciary
standard and the need for full disclosure to your
clients and how to apply the fiduciary standard in
practice. This course will provide tools for handling
conflicts of interest and ethical dilemmas, while
staying in compliance with the Standards of
Professional Conduct including the Code of Ethics
and Professional Responsibility and Candidate
Fitness Standards.
Charles C. Weeks, Jr., JD, CFP® received his Bachelor of
Science degree from LaSalle University in Finance with a
minor in Accounting in 2001, and his Juris Doctorate
from Villanova University School of Law in 2006. Charles
is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM Practitioner and
the Founder and President of Barrister Wealth
Management, LLC, a New Jersey Registered Investment
Adviser, which provides financial planning, investment
and insurance services. Mr. Weeks spearheaded the
effort to create the undergraduate Financial Planning
Concentration and the Continuing Studies Certificate in
Financial Planning at The Richard Stockton College of
New Jersey, where he also serves as an Assistant
Professor of Finance and an instructor for the Certificate
Program. Charles’ charitable endeavors include sitting
on the Stockton Foundation Golf Committee, as well as
the Flip Flop Fling and the Fund Development
Committees for Gilda’s Club South Jersey.
