Automated welding system
Dyna Torque's LoneStar automated welding system was introduced in 2003. The LoneStar is
an advanced orbital automated pipe welding system designed to modernize traditional welding
techniques and processes by integrating the latest in software development and microprocessor
technologies, combined with innovative design, to offer a compelling digital welding solution.
Dyna Torque's pipe facing machine (PFM) has revolutionized the pipeline industry by providing
a dynamic and integral tool to streamline offshore and onshore production. Our PFM delivers
an array of solutions to all bevel designs and welding techniques. It has the largest span of
diameter coverage ranging from 6 in. to 60 in. OD.

Fabrication welding
The flexibility of LoneStar automated welding systems makes them an excellent choice for

flexibility to perform GMAW, pulsed GMAW, GTAW and FCAW welding processes. They

Dyna Torque/Numax Pipe Facing Machines are the fastest cutting, most versatile and
user friendly machines on the market today. Years of experience and the highest quality
components are incorporated into every unit.
Clamp sections can be changed easily in the field if necessary. In a matter of minutes, pipe
size changes can be made simply by unbolting one clamp, sliding it off, and sliding the
other size on and re-bolting. Hydraulic connections connect and disconnect internally
during change-out procedure - no hoses or fittings to mess with and no hydraulic spillage
due to Dyna Torque/Numax’s patented "boss" connecters.
Dyna Torque/Numax Power Units supply the power needed to operate the Pipe Facing
Machine. Available in diesel or electric drive, each unit is self-contained and includes
everything necessary to power the Pipe Facing Machine. All components are skid
mounted and consist of a Prime Mover, Hydraulic Pump, Hydraulic Oil Reservoir,
and Hydraulic Hoses to transfer power to the Pipe Facing Machine.

• Easily sets up to any bevel configuration (stick electrode including modified "J" bevel

• Brush adapters eliminate both internal and external manual buffing, grinding or sanding.
• No bevel set up to change pipe sizes. Cutting heads move as one unit, eliminating
bevel reset up time.

• Diesel Units come equipped with an electric start, water cooled, Caterpillar diesel engine.
• Electric Units contain a heavy-duty industrial motor, disconnect switch with thermal
protection, and an On/Off switch for operation. Electric Units are available in a variety
of voltages and may be ordered as 50 Hz or 60 Hz.
• All units come equipped with a dual-action Parker hydraulic oil pump and a heavyduty Parker oil filter.
Dyna Torque/Numax Pneumatic Internal Lineup Clamps assure rapid, accurate alignment
of two joints of pipe during the welding operation. Front and rear heads operate
independently to lock the clamp into position. Specially designed shoes on each
head exert pressure uniformly around the inside circumference of the pipe to maintain
necessary alignment. Each Lineup Clamp is quickly and easily adjusted for different
pipe wall thickness. Clamps 16" (406.4 mm) or larger are self-propelled with powerful
air motors that drive the clamp forward through the pipe to the next joint.
Offshore projects call for the Dyna Torque/Numax Purge & Backup Clamp. Its reinforced
structural steel frame deftly handles the large-diameter, heavy-wall pipes typical of
offshore projects. All functions are wirelessly controlled by the stalking machine
operator, which decreases the time for fit-up and eliminates errors such as lowering
of the copper shoes during a welding cycle. Our Purge & Backup Clamps are perfect
for Spoolbase applications.

as well as heavy wall thicknesses using standard or compound bevels.
The soil excavated from a pipe trench can be screened back into the excavation by our
Screener Crusher. For the builder and contractor, this new working method in pipeline
padding/back filling means significant savings in time and material costs, since the
excavated soil does not have to be transported away and replaced with new soil.
In addition, the process minimizes the building of site roads, which means there is
less traffic at the site. At the same time, the reducing gravel reserves are saved.
Besides saving time and construction costs, natural resources are also preserved.
