Learning and Teaching Most courses are presented in regular three-hour classes, together with some periods of intensive teaching in the Swanston Academic Building at the Melbourne City campus. Profile “The PhD provides a rare opportunity to delve deeply into a single issue which is of broad importance to society. As part of the program I was able to draw from my own experiences as well as the most up-to-date academic thinking in order to address my topic. “I chose RMIT because of its strong reputation for applied development economics research. It is equipped with a live market data feed from Thomson Reuters and a range of financial tools for data and news analysis and market research. You will trade with live market data and experience first-hand what professionals at the world’s leading banks and investment firms do with the same tools and information. In this realistic, hands-on work environment you learn how to manage banking transactions, correct errors or omissions and create a full audit trail of the trading process. This custom-built space and innovative approach to education and training is part of RMIT’s commitment to providing business students with job-ready skills. 34 Fees Explained Postgraduate Studies by Coursework Other Fees and Expenses What you pay will depend on whether you are offered a Commonwealth supported place (CSP) or a full-fee place. Financial assistance is available to eligible students regardless of the type of place you enrol in. In addition to tuition fees, you will be charged a student services and amenities fee (SSAF), which is indexed annually. Eligible students can defer payment of the fee through SA-HELP. Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) A Commonwealth supported place is a place at university where the tuition fee is jointly paid by you and the Australian Government.
