Laboratory Activities For General Biology Corrections
p. 19 procedure #4: should say, “add 5 drops of enzyme”
p. 29 procedure #1: omit “and water” (no water goes into these curvettes)
p. 30 table: cuvette #4 should have 1.0 mL of pH 10 buffer (not 10 mL)
p. 50, paragraph beginning under #3 should read “ . . . phenol red is red in the absence of CO2 and
yellow in the presence of CO2.”
p. 50, last sentence of above mentioned paragraph add the word “to.” It should read, “BE CAREFUL
NOT TO SWALLOW. . .”
p. 51 column 1 of table should identify each tube. Tube 1 plant, tube 2 plant & foil, tube 3 no plant, no
foil.
p. 51 column 3 of table: change 20 minutes to 30 minutes.
p. 53 top text: add “crests.” Should read, “Wavelength is the distance between two crests.”
p. 54 question 20: omit “of” add “off.” Should read, “. . . .photosynthesis or reflected off the leaf. . .”
p. 65 procedure: omit “two” add “four” Should read, “work in groups of 4”
p. 68 box: omit “uracil (U) = pink” add “Thymine (T) = Orange”
p. 69 top: miss numbered. “8” should be a “6”

p. 139 table: last two cells titled “upper arm” and “lower arm” but there are no upper or lower arm
